Why are your woodworking tools called ‘tweezers’?
This name was given by a woodworker friend after an incident with a car in the road. She had two of them, and he drove around thinking he was going to hit a deer that had its back end stuck to a tree. He had a look and was astonished to see just one small tweezers sticking out of it, so he called it a tweezer. We all know that tweezers are used for scraping wood off a surface, so he had an innocent nickname for them. After the article was published, someone suggested that he should have done something else with his time. He had one tweezers, but never liked to use it. But then something happened. He came to the conclusion that tweezers in a pinch would always be handy, so he got a bigger tweezers and never forgot they existed.
