What if you play with the roulette wheel in reverse order every time, or turn the wheel sideways? What if every wheel on your roulette chart is spinning the same way?
The answer is “none of the above.” The order of spins for different wheels on the same roulette wheel is entirely random, and even different wheel combinations can produce different outcomes. Here are five ways to see what happens if you flip your roulette wheel:
The Roulette Wheel Flip Experiment
The easiest way to do math on your own is to look at how a different roulette wheel is spun, and what you think it would do. I want to share how I did it, and in this experiment, I flip a roulette wheel 90 times. Then I flip the same wheel the next time.
For this experiment, I started with 3 different types of wheel patterns:
3 wheels in the 1-2-3 pattern A wheel in the 3-2-1 pattern B wheel in the 1-1-2 pattern C wheel in the 2-4-1 pattern
The 4-1-3 wheel was spun first for each of the experiments, and the results show that the pattern with 4 wheels in the 1-2-3 pattern will only end up producing 10 different spins. There is even a slight chance that the second wheel can make it to 20 spins, but you would have to be incredibly lucky to make it to 23 or 24 in the 1-1-2 pattern.
The 3-2-1 pattern is the easiest pattern to spin, and shows a chance to end up doing 20 spins at most. The 2-4-1 pattern has a better chance with only 6 balls in the 1-1-2 wheel, but also shows a 20-spin chance. The 1-1-2 pattern shows the best chance with 12 balls, but also shows a 19-spin chance.
Here are the results:
1, 1, 2, 2 … (20 spins)
2, 2, 2, 3 (20 spins)
4-1-3 (18 spins)
1, 1, 2, 6 (18 spins)
2-4-1 (16 spins)
3-2-1 (15 spins)
4-1-3 (14 spins)
1, 1, 2, 6 … 8 (12 spins)
2-4-1 (10 spins)
