The New York Times is having its first-ever White House correspondent press briefing on Monday, and it will be a tense showdown between President Trump’s White House press secretary Sean Spicer and NBC’s Katy Tur.
On Monday morning, Spicer was at his best when he pointed the finger at reporters who questioned Trump about Charlottesville. “Some of the questions are ridiculous,” he said.
On Monday night, that all changed.
With a bit of a groan, Tur asked Trump about those Charlottesville questions at her first White House briefing. Tur, who has been covering the White House for NBC News for eight years, said that reporters asked questions about Trump’s response to the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville.
“There’s a lot of questions that are ridiculous,” Tur said.
“You guys wanted a press briefing on the Charlottesville rally, so here it is,” Spicer said, as the exchange continued. “First question from @NBCNews Katy Tur, @realDonaldTrump’s national security advisor. Who is on this call.”
“No, no, No,” Tur replied
