Your body needs to have enough fat to store for years to come. So eat foods with higher energy density — such as fats and proteins with high glycemic index (GI) levels. Consume foods that aid fat breakdown: fiber, fruits and vegetables, and legumes.
In my mind, this is something that you can do day to day. It’s not something that takes you out of your comfort zone.
When could you start to lose weight?
Start with the week starting Tuesday. You will have enough time for daily calorie tracking at this point in the process.
Are there any supplements that you take?
Supplementation might be more of an issue for individuals who eat foods high in sodium than individuals who do. If you eat foods high in sodium you may be at risk for eating excess sodium during the day. Your provider or doctor should discuss this with you.
You could also have low dietary salt intake during the day. There are studies that show that low sodium diets may increase your risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease (CVD). These researchers studied the effects of low sodium diets on serum lipids (fat) and lipoproteins (for example, high density lipoprotein and low density lipoprotein). This would suggest it wouldn’t be wise to put much emphasis on sodium intake during the day.
Also, consider that some people use a salt supplement to reduce their sodium intake. This may increase your risk of becoming ill. Some companies sell a salt substitute called S-Cr-N-Ac. It can cause some severe side effects including diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. So I don’t recommend this supplement.
How long should I go for the burn? How long can you go before you gain back any weight?
Your burn is like a time clock: you need to go long or long-term before you begin to gain weight. Some burn rates may be faster than others. For instance, I had a great burn rate of 50% which took me about a week to reach my max. Then, after that, my losses of 20lbs in 7 days or so started happening again. On top of losing weight, I now have a bit more energy than the average person. Plus, most of my life experience will have made me aware of this problem — so you have a good idea for how long you can safely go before you gain.
Is food a big concern?
In general, yes.
