No. As of July 2016 the IELTS/IQA is one of the few test centres that require NLP training or certification.
What is NLP training or certification? NLP, often shortened to NLP, is a term used to describe a set of techniques and tools used by systems such as AI, B2B businesses and governments at all levels of government, to effectively identify, categorise and categorise information. A common example of NLP is through the use of machine learning to find potential customer needs, determine potential solutions and determine potential barriers to entry. Other NLP techniques such as keyword recommendation use similar techniques. It is not uncommon for a system using a neural network to come up with potentially thousands of possible words from which to classify data.
Is it an accredited qualification? No. This classification of NLP is a matter of discussion between the IELTS and AIIA.
Is it legal? Although no government in the world requires its employees to pass an NLP certification test, such a test is usually used to measure and qualify skills. In a few countries the education system makes it mandatory for all new graduates between years 7 and 9 to pass an NLP test before being granted a teaching certificate.
Can I register for NLP training or certification? No. Training or certification is not offered by the IELTS as this is a technical certification.
Can I claim training credits for NLP? No. Any use of credits for a particular course will result in a letter of objection, as such use will be misleading if this is done in the name of NLP training or certification rather than to demonstrate skills. Credits will only be allowed for the purposes of passing a course.
What does it cost? Training cannot be taught for training credit purposes on the IELTS or AIIA.
What are the requirements for NLP training or certification? NLP training or certification is available at the IELTS or AIIA levels.
Can I transfer my certificate/training credits to other organisations? A maximum of 5 years can be transferable from one course (IELTS) to another. The maximum number of credits is 15 credits for both the IELTS and AIIA.
Do I need to pass both NLP/AI systems? For the IELTS and AIIA, a maximum of two systems may be used to test a student’s competency.
