How long does it take to be a certified life coach? – How To Start A Coaching Business From Scratch

Your success or failure as a coach begins with your focus, intention, and work ethic. The following steps will help you to become your dream coach:

1. Set a goal.

Set realistic goals and create a plan for achieving them. Make sure you are committed to a specific way of getting there. For example:

“I want to be a professional coach by the age of 39, and achieve this goal by practicing and coaching at least once a week until I reach that goal.”

2. Find a way to measure your progress.

Find a way to measure your progress, by tracking how many phone calls you receive or how many times you meet with your client during the past week. Don’t be afraid to ask a client to provide you with a time frame on whether they will be able to meet with you again in the next week or two. Do your research so you know the time frames and expectations are realistic.

For example: For every 10 minutes you are called on the phone your focus, intention, and work ethic need to be increased by 10% or so. For every hour you meet with your client, keep track of how many times they visit you and how many times you are involved in their business. This will help you to know how your time is spent and create the right environment for that time.

If you are already a certified life coach, you need to build a plan for your life goals. Ask yourself important questions like how will my goals be achieved by the age of 39; and will these goals be reached when I achieve the goals? You’re going to need a plan, and one of the most important tools on which you will put your plan is a calendar or similar document. You are going to need to have measurable goals in mind that you can identify and measure. You can find out what this is here: How to measure and track your life goals.
