In the past few years, we have seen many companies enter the market through a variety of avenues:
Education – we created more of these in 2017 than in the last decade
Workers’ compensation – we started more of these as well
Housing – many of these already existed but were very costly, and required a lot of time and money
Fitness – many of these already existed but were very expensive, and required a lot of knowledge
Healthcare/Medicare – also existed but were very expensive
Legal – many of these already existed but were very expensive, and required a lot of time and money
What do I need to find a life coach?
This is hard! This is hard.
Do I need a lot of money?
You don’t need a lot of money. These people have time. We understand all this stuff, too. You don’t need to be a computer genius or a lawyer to be a life coach, but you do need to do your research.
Here are some things to look for:
Are you a highly-successful professional, or a startup CEO or other entrepreneur?
What percentage of salary do you think they would be earning in a career?
Is this person a “genius”? Have you talked to him/her on a daily basis? Is your relationship really professional? (And it can’t be with someone you met on the street!)
Do you have the time, inclination or ability to actually learn and teach people skills you need for life? If not, you won’t. You should probably hire someone else.
What are some common mistakes people make on their first interview, or first phone call?
It’s probably time for some context. Here are a few examples that, while not all-inclusive, are at least a couple of common mistakes people make on interview day:
I’m a “good kid”.
“I’m a great kid” is a very common answer. And it’s a terrible idea.
Here’s why it’s a terrible idea. Everyone has biases and fears. Everyone wants to give the best possible answer, and they know it.
I’ll hire you anyway because you’re the only person I’ve seen who can teach me how to become financially solvent.
“Yes, we want a millionaire, and all you’ve got to do is to provide us with a decent compensation package” –
