In this section I’ll list some of my favorite brands and explain how the instrument is built, so you can start taking the instrument to the next level with ease
Fender: The Fender series is the gold standard of modern playing instruments in the world, and at a cost you won’t find better than that. The current model I play is a Les Paul (S-1) in beautiful rosewood, and I’m happy to say that it feels great, sounds great, and I can’t wait till I can use it in real-life situations of any kind.
Aurora (formerly Fender): A classic on the instrument market for over 50 years, Aurora is an American brand. Its reputation for fine tone is legendary – if you ever get your hands on one, get it now!
Fender Strat: The world’s standard rock style guitar, it’s the most recognized and most iconic instrument on the planet. All you need is a guitar, and all you want is a Strat. There is virtually no competition for one. The reason, of course, is that the Strat has gotten so good that very few people would bother giving up one of their favorite guitars for another brand.
Gibson: Gibson has been in business for over 75 years, and it continues to keep innovating and perfecting the quality of its instrument lines. In the new millennium I got my first Gibson Strat, and I’m glad I did. It’s been the most versatile instrument I’ve ever played.
Epiphone: The quintessential high end guitar and I got my first Epiphone Electric Guitar in 1992. Now it’s been 15 years since I played an Epiphone, and I’m still loving them. I’m looking forward to the time when I get a new Epiphone.
Meyer-Oe! and BNSF: The two legendary brands from Germany, which are known for superb quality and great value. They are also great brands to start with because they’re easy on the wallet.
Other Brands Worth Considering
As we’ve seen, this is just a starting point, and these should already be on your list of favorite guitar brands and manufacturers. If you’re new to the market or you’re looking for an instrument for a serious player, then just look at some of the brands, which might work for you before you buy.
