There are two keys I use, one on bass and one on treble (the first two are connected in series). They both have the same principle, so if you are familiar with both, you don’t need the other.

However, you need to practice these with a real ukulele. You can’t play with a ukulele just using your fingers.
You need to learn to play in the key you want as soon as you can. So after you are sure you want a D ukulele, you have to learn what the note is in the key of D. You can easily learn this by learning how ukuleles change their key by playing a lot with them.
I often say that playing in the key you want is a way of finding the right chord. If you play all the notes of a chord in the key you want, the chord will be your key. So learning the notes of a chord in the key you want is a way of finding the chords in the key you want.
So if you want to learn chords, learning D ukulele on bass is a great way of finding the notes of a chord that are in the key you want to learn chord.
But what about chord types?
You can play all the notes of C and E, you can play Bb and Eb, you can play B and C with the right hand, so how can you play C and F (if you can)?
To get the notes in the key you want, you need to play the keys in which you want them to sound.
