Well, if this is the question a lot of you are asking, the answer is no. But don’t worry. If you understand the basic principles of entrepreneurship, you’re going to find out where every penny goes when you’re successful in your venture.
My best advice? Start small! If you’re just starting out, you probably will be spending about 50-100 hours of your time each month. So if you want to start a business, you’re going to need to start small. This isn’t hard, though you’re likely only going to work on a new business for a year or so and then try it out when that is over. That is, if the venture is successful!
My worst advice? Don’t think of it like a job. The fact is that no matter how you do it, most entrepreneurs are still going to have to put in their hands at least $20K or $25K per year on their venture. Most entrepreneurs are also still going to work out of a home office or a home office in a business they are managing, both of which are cost-prohibitive. So that’s what you really need to focus on first — what money you need (not the amount of it) to make that initial $100K or $100K a day goal.
There are so many possibilities for what that money could be spent:
You could be focusing on marketing, PR, and more creative ways to get your product into the minds of the right people.
You could be spending it on office renovation, moving furniture, and other such things that take up a lot of your time.
You could be spending it on advertising and marketing.
You could be investing in a staff member who brings in new perspectives for you.
Your investment in that initial staff member could then pay for more than just staff training.
Your investment in marketing could pay for more than just marketing efforts.
