While eating around 1 pm is recommended, sometimes you might find yourself on the couch staring at Netflix/Netflix with no intention of dinner or a cup of coffee. I have found a way around this by just drinking some coffee before we go out.
If you are on the cusp of dining, a good meal after a long day isn’t as important as what you are doing and where you are going. Take a day off and catch up with friends, family, or something meaningful. I have often spent the night at a friends house (a few weeks ago). I love the feel of home and a place to be at for the evening.
If you have other things going on at the same time or if you are running a business and are planning to work at a different location that you aren’t at your office, the best thing to do is just eat with your fellow co-workers.
When choosing a dinner date make sure to ask yourself if you have time for this as well as the rest of the dates. If you do, then ask if you could share a couple of the meals or a dessert if you have more time. I have often made the choice to share a dessert with a friend because I have a little more time to spare so I can get a dessert together while we are out with other friends. Do not over budget for dessert as some dates are still very important, and if you spend so much on dessert that no one has time to make anything else, then you will only ruin the date.
If you know you are going to be in a place long enough to plan out the full meal, then make sure you have time to go out of town for dinner. Some people just can’t or don’t plan out the dates well enough. If you are in a place where you may be going for a few days before going back home, I highly recommend booking some other nights for you as a way to see more of them. In the end your date will be different for different people.
