Spray paints are a general term for various, generally more transparent pigment systems. There are two types of spray paint. The most common type is a paint (called a primer) with a water-based polymer, such as Polyoxometal or Polyurethane, added to it. In this scheme, a thin layer of the polymer coats the paint surface as it is set.
To use a spray kit, spray a thin coat of the primer onto the painted surface. After the primer dries, you can apply some water based paint to achieve a gloss finish. When ready to use, spray just enough of the primer on the primer to coat the painting. The primer provides an excellent paint coat and will keep the paint surface from scratching.
The second type of spray paint is a paint (called an enamel) that is water based, such as polyurethane, acrylic or acrylic acid. In this scheme, a polymer (polymer) is added to a liquid-based paint. After the paint is sealed, you can apply some water based paint to create a gloss finish.
What type of paints do I need?
If you are painting interior finish, you probably have one brush, the spray brush. This is a handy brush that has a plastic tip that is attached to a spout. Use the spray brush to apply the painted coats and let the paint dry for about a half hour. Rinse the spray brush in warm water and dry it at about 90ยบ F for about 15 minutes. The surface will be very smooth.
If you are painting a non-porous surface like wood panels, such as wood flooring, you probably do not need a spray brush and/or a spigot. You can apply a layer of paint directly to the paint, just like you would do with a coat hanger. If you wish to apply the paint over the entire surface, you must use a spray pan (sometimes referred to as an airbrush), which is a paint can with a nozzle attached to the end. To apply the painting, first lay flat and cover the entire surface with the paint and let it sit overnight in a cool, dry place such as a garage or shed. Then spray it with the spray pan to cover the entire surface. You can then apply a second coat of paint, letting the second layer dry. Then, repeat steps 4 through 7. Finally, rinse the painted surface with warm water in order to clean off all excess water. Spray
